Hot rolled steel structures are made from factory made beams and columns which are standard sizes and are used mainly for equipment supporting structures, pipe racks, power plants, cement plants, conveyor support structures etc. Hot rolled steel structures are designed by the consultants and each building or structure is designed from scratch the fabrication contractor at time will design the connections using specialized software. The fabrication contactor then prepares the shop drawings and erection drawings.

Hot rolled steel structures generally tend to weigh 20-30% more than a pre-engineered buildings and the costs associated with heavier weight like the concrete foundations also tends to be more in case of Hot Rolled Steel Structures.
